Reenactment

 Audra doing what she loves.

Anna-Kate got to help with the butter making.

Which she loved.
The girls' outfits were made by me.
She got to learn about so many other hand crafts...different weaving techniques, corn doll making, basket making, carving, wool spinning, flax spinning, knifemaking, the horn crafts, rope making.  She loves when she gets a chance for lace making.

Girls

This weekend the girls got into their dress up fun again. They were poor homeless orphans who didn't have much.  I made them a baked potato and they packed that and set out to have their lunch in the cold.

The good news is they came across good fortune and their whole life changed by the afternoon.  Anna-Kate is wearing the fancy gown the thrift shop set aside just for her.

I just love when they get into the fun.

Reenactment

Audra had another round of reenactment.  She's getting more responsibility. She was responsible for the potato balls and the bread pudding on her own. I love watching her shine.

Reenactment

Another round of reenacting for Audra, with me trying to keep AK busy...

The poor orphans

The poor orphans are back, it's been a solid 24 hours of their return. They have been very busy with all their endeavors. Thankfully they found enough food today.

Sap collecting

One does not just go collect the sap. No.  One must get dressed appropriately prior to departure. A pre-requisite, naturally. Also, those buckets must be fetched from the upstairs over the garage. They are the only collection buckets suitable.

Iceskating where water shouldn't be....

Our barn hasn't been properly excavated since it came done yet.  This means we have a ridiculous sized puddle that apparently doubles as an ice skating rink. A perfect place to dress up as an old fashioned poor orphan and skate the day away.  She's wearing the new 'peasant dress' that I made her.

2022 Colonial Militia Muster and Market Fair at the Wentworth House

We've been going a number of years...and I take so few pictures when I get around people! It was a good day with many of our friends.

Adrian was totally there too.  And the two of us.  I'm pretty sure this is Audra's fave event of the year.
