My 2nd basket

I made exactly one basket in the early 90s and have been wanting to give it a whirl again. Today was the day.  The first of many, hopefully.

Family Hike

Anna-Kate's 8th Birthday Recap

What a day it was for Anna-Kate's 8th! She tried to make her birthday last a month, but I'll just give the highlights of the day.

She made a snazzy sign so we knew where to put presents.

Audra got her breakfast in the tub. Certainly a meal fit for a queen!

Ice cream.

Waiting for Nam and Pap

Steak, potatoes, salad and punch.

Fried Dough for dessert.

And presents. It was a wonderful day for the queen!

Catching up

This has been the longest hiatus I've taken from blogging. It's been a month.  Not just on the calendar, but it's been A MONTH.  One kid on crutches, another in a cast.  A lot of unexpecteds.  The worst part has been our beloved 4 year old Copper's acute illness.  He had a well visit on April 30th and then two weeks later he wasn't expected to make it through the weekend.  He did make it, which we are thankful for.  He has been steadily going downhill, unfortunately.  We are fully aware that our time with him will be short, but we are appreciating each good day he has.

This was a week before everything happened.

I think the pictures tell the story, the story of heartbreak and love all wrapped up together.

Rain

Since it rained for approximately 500 days, we took advantage of no one else wanting to be out. Love that we live here.

Wiffle ball

I've been coaching Wiffle Ball for homeschooled 5-9 year olds.  We made our team shirts. (Sharpies and rubbing alcohol)

While we're doing wiffle ball, the big kids are doing baseball. Thankful for homeschool sports options. Inclusive, encouraging and fun.
