Mother's Day 2024. Justin brought them to the store and they each picked a special snack for me. They were right on, got something that truly was something I like. Church and gardening also filled the day. Low key, welcomed indeed!
Northern Lights
Northern Lights, visible from our home in Maine. It was exquisite.
Night two was supposed to be even better. It wasn't as colorful, but still pretty neat.
Thrifted
A mix of the free bin and thirfted purchases: A salad spinner (I donated mine when we were living in apartments and have vowed I will replace if I found a free one...all these years later!), a yogurt maker (so I'm no longer wrapping crockpots in wool blankets to make yogurt), a deviled egg keep cold try (my church family expects deviled eggs at potlucks now, it's my thing to bring), a wooden mallet, Audra cannot pass up any dog socks, even if they are Christmasy, a vintage flower maker type craft and a pink reflector vest since our road for me since our road is too busy. $5.
Wander and Wonder Birds
I have such a good group of friends who follow along with my crazy ideas. This was a muddy mess with ticks and obstacles everywhere. BUT, I brought them to a rookery with baby Great Blue Herons. Definitely a memorable adventure. <3
This picture, I went to take a picture of something, my phone was accidently flipped to selfie. As I was horrified with the unflattering, unexpected picture of myself, I then noticed who just so happened to be in the frame along with me, lol. Always RIGHT THERE.
Garden Update #2 2024
I know it's not even been a minute since my last garden post, but here I am....with big gardening news.
I keep working on the main garden. I've reduced the size, but worked to improve it. Hopefully more manageable. On the left, I had a big chunk that I removed all the invasive burning bush. I just left the lilacs. This was HOURS of work. Hopefully I can get the lilacs back without so many invasives.
And my grafts!! They are coming on back. I have a few I regrafted, but the majority are thriving.
Garden Update 2024 #1
All hands on deck with garden prep! Well, sort of. This one mostly just keeps me company.
This one is a non stop worker. This is my one getting things ready for meals. Parsnips galore!
May 2nd progress at the end of the day. Hopeful for a good growing season!
New Chairs
Whole family: NO. We don't need new chairs. No. No. No.
But they're free wrought iron chairs and I think I need them.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
So we compromised and Adrian and I brought them home.
Now I have a new project.
